Personally, I'm going to vote for B.A.P. Straight away they had captured their audience with a new song and a brand new feel Kpop has never felt before: rock-pop. With their powerful singing and rapping skills, they were able to pull of the edgy and powerful song brilliantly and their dancing is great to watch - they are in sync and look like professionals already. EXO-M came close but the onslaught of teasers and so-called 'prologues' SM released before-hand put me off completely. I'm slowly getting back into them but I still believe B.A.P deserves the win.

I like to share news regularly and I get 10 Kpops for posting a journal post here.

But have you noticed the similarities between Kpop and One Direction?
1. Their fandom:
One Direction’s fandom – called Directioners –partakes in activities that are usually signature of Kpop. For example, Directioners tend to ship members with each other, a heavily practiced tradition between Kpop fans. This is an extremely rare practice outside of Kpop but the majority of the One Direction fandom just seems to laugh over it, acknowledging and finding amusement in the “gayness” of their boys. The members of 1D also take part in a lot of bromance, frequently getting touchy-feely between each other. The Harry/Louis ship – Larry Stylinson — is even acknowledged by the artists themselves, reaching levels comparable to famous K-pop ships like EunHae or even YunJae back in the day.
2. Their audience:
One Direction and Kpop boy bands cater primarily to teenage girls, their most loyal followers, using their looks, charms, and voices to get their attention. Consequently, because of the focus on teenage girls, the lyrical content seems of One Direction and many Kpop groups seem to be similar as well. I mean compare One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” with a song like SHINee’s “Noona You’re So Pretty.” Both basically describe what every fangirl wants to hear from a boy.
3. Their devotion earned:
Kpop and One Direction share that same loved, devoted and sense-of-perfection vibe from their fans; the devotion displayed goes beyond the devotion showed by regular fans of other artists. Both display the kind of devotion that starts fanwars with fans of a rival group due to a biased comparison, the kind of devotion that makes fans cry after making eye contact with their favorite member, and the kind of the devotion that makes fans feel like they know the artists personally due to knowing so much about them. It’s a kind of devotion that allows fans to look over their favorite artists' flaws and see them as perfect, overlooking a lack of talent or any controversies. Me and my biases is a good example of me seeing them as perfect beings - to me, there is nothing wrong about them and in my eye, they can do no wrong. This may not be right, but I can't help but feel this way.
4. Their creation:
One Direction is a group and while that may not seem signifigant, it is. If you look, there are hardly any all-male groups that aren't a band. There's the usual onslaught of solo singers and the occasional girl group (a la Spice Girls) but the numbers of boy groups is very low and maybe with the creation of One Direction, we might be seeing more boy groups in the future. Also, One Direction aren't a group of boys naturally coming together to make music - they were pretty much shoved together to perform on X Factor and this is like the various entertainments in the Korean music industry that work on pushing a bunch of talented (or, untalented) people together to create music.
5. Their image:
One Direction and Kpop boy bands focus on personality and image. Arguably, only half of the experience of following a Kpop group is listening to their music; the other half is spent doting on our favorite idols on interviews or variety shows. While One Direction’s primary appeal is their music, their personalities still play a pretty critical role in attracting fans as well. The group is witty, charming, and diverse in personality, and the boys seem to showcase that well, with all their TV appearances. Just like Kpop. Variety shows weren't created for nothing y'know.
I’ve heard multiple times how One Direction fans don’t like to be compared to Kpop fans and -pop fans don’t like to be compared to One Direction fans. Since fans are willing to accept One Direction’s artificiality, lack of masculinity, and overall “pop-sy” image, the very things fans fear the West won’t accept, why can’t they do the same for a -pop group?

Well, I was watching it the other night, slightly fangirling over Soohyun, and as I watched him I noticed that his voice cuts out when he's still lip-syncing aroung the 3:05 - 3:07 mark.
I found this funny because while he's pretending to belt out those awesome lyrics, his voice doesn't come through :3
And you can tell that his voice cuts off because if you can recognize his voice, you'll know.
LOL. His mouth is wide open but nothing comes out! It looks so funny xD

After leaving Woollim Entertainment to join the YG Family, Daniel has become one of the most famous Korean idols known. I think you all know who I'm talking about. The one and only Tablo.
Honestly, I've only just gotten into him and his music though I was a fan of Epik High a while back with their hit songs 'Run' and 'Fan'.
And after researching all of his works (well, most of them anyway) and watching this surprisingly funny man on variety shows, I was deeply affected by what this man had been through.
Don't know his story? I'll explain in detail here.
Daniel Lee, '02, MA '02, graduated from Stanford but many Korean (and international) fans and the community refused to believe him as there was an onslaught of fake diploma scandals not too long ago, with commoners and celebrities alike getting caught and punished for their crimes. Korea was in shock.
Years later, Daniel talked about his graduation on variety shows, saying that he had not only graduated from Stanford in 3 ½ years, but that he also had received a master's degree in that time. He said he had written his book, 'Pieces of You', while he was an undergrad and that he had received a creative writing award for one of the stories from author and Stanford professor Tobias Wolff, MA '78.
In May 2010, a group of Internet users created an online forum titled "We Request the Truth from Tablo," better known by its Korean acronym TaJinYo. The group didn't buy Lee's story. They started referring to him as "God-blo" because only God could have accomplished as much as Lee. The members of the group participated anonymously and attacked Lee from behind user names such as Whatbecomes and Spongebobo.
To many in Korea, TaJinYo's questions were legitimate. For instance, it usually takes four years to complete a bachelor's degree. A master's normally takes another two. Students typically also write a thesis to attain a master's and yet Lee said that he never wrote one.
Tablo was now in danger. His family received threatening phone calls, was verbally abused out on the streets, harrassed on social networking sites and forums and when his wife was delivering their first child, he was given cold looks as he walked down the halls. He lived in constant fear and stayed shrouded up in his apartment; not going out unless absolutely necessary and sometimes, not even then.
After the harrassment worsened, Daniel went to great lengths to prove his innocence, eventually flying out to Stanford to compare diplomas and transcripts. If the two were the same (the one Tablo received and owned and the one kept in the record files at Standford), then Tablo would be proven innocent. Luckily, when he walked into the English department, student services manager Judy Candell recognized him and gave him a hug. She'd heard about his troubles.
The camera crew followed him to the registrar's office where Thomas Black (a professor) was waiting. Lee pulled his diploma and transcript out of his backpack and laid them down on a table for Black to inspect. He also handed Black his passport. Black printed Lee's transcript off his own server, compared the two and checked Lee's name against the name listed in the passport.
"It's exactly the same," Black concluded, holding up the two transcripts. "Line for line, word for word."
And so, after that, many of the conspiracies died down, but TaJiNyo stands strong, with over 10,000 members who continue to believe that Tablo never graduated from Stanford.
Tablo is now an emotionally and mentally scarred shell of his former self. He used to be a vibrant and confident musician with a swagger like no-one else but this has all but evaporated away.
Thankfully, he is slowly yet surely recovering, and with the release of his first solo album, he has been brought up to new heights. I hope that he continues to fight for the truth and always stay strong and release great music that comes from the inner depths of his soul. He is a talented musician and I hope he can continue to do what he loves in life.
His story is so emotional and so affecting that I just had to share it. I want everyone to know what Tablo has been through and yet, look at him. He's moved on and is now focusing on his career as a rapper/singer - which I hope he always will be. Stay strong my boy.

Well, now that that's out of my system, I've come to deliver some wonderful news.
INFINITE will be coming back on May the 15th, 2012. This year, this month. Inspirits, I kid you not.

I'm so excited I could cry omg. I'm surprised I can even talk normally like this.

It's a sign I tell ya.
So, I guess that's one of the other reasons why I'm so excited - my birthday's really close :3 (I hope you guys are getting something for me *wink*) LOL jks (not really).
But seriously, my favourite band has their comeback one day after my birthday. It has to mean something.
Well, since I live in Australia and it's location is the closest to the southern pole, the sun rises first in Australia making it the earliest civilized country (besides Antarctica). So, that would make Korea half a day, give or take a few hours, before Australia so technically, INFINITE would be comebacking on the day of my birthday! Yay! *throws things*
I seriously hope that INFINITE will be keeping that rock insprired theme seen in their earlier video teaser they released sometime in March signalling that their comeback was in may this year. That theme is duh sex and I would like to see more LOLOL. *shameless*
Though, I dunno where the teaser video is now because Wollim had to delete it. Why, you ask? Because Myungsoo forgot to zip his pants.

YouTube is a great place to share and view videos where stories can unfold, lives can be explored and lessons can be learnt. I don't know about you, but I regularly use YouTube to fangirl and watch Kpop music videos (MVs) and seeing as most groups/artists put a lot of work into the making and producing of these MVs (emphasis on the most. SM we're looking at you) I like to see what they have done and also get some more eye-candy on my biases and such.

I don't know about you, but I regularly use YouTube to fangirl and watch Kpop music videos (MVs) and seeing as most groups/artists put a lot of work into the making and producing of these MVs (emphasis on the most. SM we're looking at you) I like to see what they have done and also get some more eye-candy on my biases and such.
However, it deeply irks me when I find that all their hardwork has almost gone to waste because people end up watching the wrong video. Yes, the video may be the same, but the uploader my friends, is very, very different.
In the YouTube world, plagiarism isn't dealt with all that often so they seldom use the protocol fit for plagiarism cases. So when users other than the original uploader (i.e. sment, u-kiss2008) upload Kpop MVs that aren't their own, even if they state that they do not own it, they are taking away profit and views from these various Kpop groups. I'm talking about users that decide to re-upload the MV without any addition (if they translated/added subs in different languages or so, that would be alright because they are helping to improve the MV for other users/viewers).
With more views comes more profit for the original uploader of the MV and the Kpop idol which featured in it (and maybe even helped produce it) which all in all, helps the idol and such. However, re-uploaders get nothing from their number of views and take away views and profit that could've been rightfully earned by the original uploader.
I don't have a YouTube account because I honestly couldn't be bothered with it all, but it irritates me to see all these re-uploads that seem so damn pointless.
I will everyone who reads this to go flag, dislike, comment and/or report re-uploaders so that they can stop re-uploading things which are not theirs and to rightfully give back the profit the original uploader should be earning from their views! SPREAD THE WORD ! 8D
