On February 12th k-pop fans in Peru gathered for one of the most special and great events presented in the country.
The Korean Pop Idols Festival has been one of the most loved events by fans during its 6 editions were girls and boys who love k-pop get together to have a great time together and share their love for k-pop and idols.
The event has 4 main parts. The first one is the fan chants war, where local fan clubs get organized with special chants for their favorite idols. Also there is a screening part of the most popular k-pop videos and songs where all fans enjoy the stages of their favorite idols on a huge screen. As well there is a dance cover contest where the finalist groups that have went through special auditions and previous competitions present their best moves at the stage. Finally there is a giveaway with a lot of albums and goodies from the most popular artists.
This year 9 clubs were present at the event including Cassiopeias, BEAUTIES, A+, Primadonnas, Blackjacks, Triple S, VIP’s, Hottests and Kiss Me, but the Cassiopeias did not took part of the fan chants war since they are getting ready for JYJ’s concert in March.
The fans started to arrive at the location pretty early since the event was set to start at 11:30 AM and last until 6 PM. Each club was really organized wearing matching outfits, the same t-shirts and holding the same light sticks and balloons. Each group had a leader who directed them about where to go and how to behave the whole time making the event pretty well organized.
The 1,000 fans started to enter the auditorium located at one of the most prestigious and traditional schools of the country and took their designated locations. The second floor was invaded by around 50 Cassiopeias, more than 110 Triple S and another 50 Hottest.
On the first floor Blackjacks, VIPs and Kiss Me took the front part of the auditorium and Beauties, Primadonnas as well as A+ were located at the back part of the room having around 50 and 60 members each.
The screening started with 2PM’s “Don’t Stop, Can’t Stop” making Hottest on the second floor start screaming and moving their light sticks at the same time. The girls wore a white shirt with a black tie. The next track was SS501’s “Love Like This” making the room shine with green lights. Beauties were the next ones on the list with BEAST’s “Shock”, where boys and girls screamed for the boys, especially after their club was officially recognized by Cube a few days ago.
VIPs held their crown light sticks up when Big Bang’s “Oh My Friend” was on the screen. A+ hearts started to beat faster and faster when MBLAQ`s “Oh Yeah” was finally played. On the other side of the room Blackjacks also saw the debut of their girls when 2NE1`s “Fire” started to play. The girls and boys of Kiss Me also screamed when U-Kiss’ “Give it to Me” played bringing back the memories of the old line up.
JYJ’s “Empty” was also played making Cassiopeias train a bit for the upcoming concert. Primadonnas were extremely happy when F.T. Island’s “I Hope” was played, especially since the band has recently made a comeback and won its first trophy. Even thought the Sones were not present everyone rocked Girl’s Generation’s “Mr. Taxi”.
The whole crowd went absolutely crazy when Super Junior’s “Sorry Sorry” was finally played showing that everyone present was an ELF.
Another round of songs were again introduced making fans excited while watching the videos of SS501’s “UR Man”, “Love Ya” and “Déjà vu”; Beast’s “Beautiful”, ””; 2PM’s “I’ll Be There”, “Hands Up”; MBLAQ’s “ Mona Lisa”, “G.O.O.D. Love” and “It’s War”; 2NE1’s “Pretty Boy”, “I Don’t Care”, “Ugly”, “I am The Best” and “Go Away”;U-Kiss’ “Tick Tock”, “0330”; F.T.Island’s “Go Crazy”, “Primadonna”; TVXQ’s “Before U Go”, “Maximum”; GD&TOP’s “High High”, T-ara’s “Roly Poly”; C.N. Blue’s “Love Girl”; Infinite’s “BTD”; Trouble Maker’s “Troble Maker”; Big Bang’s “Stupid Liar”; JYJ’s “Mission”; Super Junior’s “Bonamana”, Super Man”; and more!
After the first round of videos was over the time for the dance contest arrived. The 3 finalist groups presented their stages. Frezze was the ultimate winner of the battle due to their amazing skills on the stage due to the effort of their leader.
A small break was given since the event was going to last all day long. As soon as the second part was over the usual giveaway started including k-pop albums, goddies, calendars and O.S.T.’s from 2NE1, MBLAQ, 2PM, Big Bang, JYJ, and more!
The fan chants war followed with special performances of each club where the boys and girls screamed with all their hearts. The winners of the battle were the Triple S followed by Hottest and Beauties and A+ on the third place.
