In 2001, MC Sniper lectured on pop music at Seoul National University, but it was his song Sorasora pureureun sora that first brought him to the public's attention. His remake of the traditional song was released on the internet by one of his fans, and shortly afterwards a fan club was created for him, and over 18,000 fans immediately joined, which ultimately led to MC Sniper recording his first solo album in 2002, So Sniper....
2003 saw the release of MC Sniper's second album, Chohaeng, with his third album Be In Deep Grief in 2004.
Three years later, and MC Sniper finally released his fourth album, How Bad Do U Want It? in March of 2007. More polished and smooth than his previous three albums, How Bad Do U Want It? featured other artists such as MC BK, Baechigi, Outsider, Stonyskunk and Clazziquai.
MC Sniper is also credited for discovering and producing the hip hop group Baechigi, and spent 10 months producing Baechigi's first album in 2005. They also participated in promoting MC Sniper's So Sniper..., and together MC Sniper and Baechigi founded the underground hip hop crew Buddha Baby.

He Debuted in 2002 with the album “So Sniper…” and immediately became recognized for acrid lyrics that challenged economic, governmental, and societal conditions - his backdrop: a powerful mixture of hip-hop and traditional Korean music.
He is credited with discovering and producing 배치기 (Baechigi), a hip-hop group whose popularity is now exponentially increasing.
MC Sniper is featured on the Windstruck OST, Cherry Filter’s 3rd album, and even internationally on Ryuichi Sakamoto’s “Undercooled”.
