It was only in 2001 that Kim returned to the stage as part of hip-hop trio Bugga Kingz with rappers Gan-D and Juvie Train. Though their first album was not a commercial success, it was recognized by fans and critics alike for its unique and stylish branding of hip-hop and soul. In 2004 Kim released the solo album, “Beats Within My Soul,” a critically acclaimed effort that earned him a Korean Music Award at that year
